Where have I been?

I need to apologize to you guys because I have not posted anything on here in quite a while. I was busy nerding Battlefield 3 and managed to get up to LVL 39 by now.

While I had alot of fun playing BF3 I am determined to keep you guys up to date and pick up a little on my post-rate.

Battlefield 3 - driving the Abrams M1

As promised earlier I will show you a few pics of me driving the Abrams M1 tank in Battlefield 3.

Its really easy once you get a grip on it and I'm sure it will be alot of fun in multiplayer either taking on other tanks or enemies on foot.

 The following pic is not my GPU acting up if you were wondering, I just got hit  by an enemy tank.

Battlefield 3 - a first look at singleplayer

So I got my hands on the BF3 singleplayer today and wanted to give you guys a first impression of the vehicle-missions.

I've played through it and I must tell you that its a little short (maybe 3 hours of playtime) but these missions were really fun and I can't wait to dig into the multiplayer!

I'm playing on 1920x1080 with almost all details on high and was getting around 45 FPS with my Phenom 2 Quadcore and a Radeon 4870.

One of the first missions is to fly as the gunner on an american jet into Iranian airspace, but I'm going to let the pictures do the talking:

Sadly you dont get to fly the jet but its alot of fun this way too, albeit a little easy to be honest.

I'll ad a post about the tankmission later!

A little out of the usual - my dinner

Well since I haven't written anything in a while I thought I'd treat you to what I had for dinner a few days ago.

These are yellow papricas filled with ground beef mixed with onions and an assortment of spices. And thats what they looked like served with potatoes:

DELICIOUS!

Suttgart Wasen - wrapup

Well what can I say.

I had a really fucking fun day! We had our own reserved table right in the middle of Peter Brandls tent and it turned out to be great.

Alot of Maß (1l glass of beer) were had and at some point we just started dancing on the tables.

Sorry about the obscured faces but I don't think my friends want to be plastered over the internet.

And at almost sharp 22:30 the tent started to empty and we were the last people left.

I can really encourage anybody in germany or with the means to travel to germany to at some point visit the Wasen, you wont regret it!

Stuttgart Wasen

Over the weekend you wont hear anything from me since I am attending the Canstatter Volksfest which is better know as the Wasen. I guess it would best be explained to all my non-german readers as the Oktoberfest of Stuttgart.

There are around 4 million people visiting every year and this year I'll be one of them.

I will give you a full review of how it turned out for me next week. Of course I will make many pictures! Stay tuned until then!

iPhone 4S - disappointment

As many of you may know already the iPhone 4S has been revealed today under alot of media attention.

I was hoping I could present a little info about an all new iPhone yet all we got was a upgraded iPhone 4. I'm not too disappointed though since I already got a Samsung Galaxy S2 a few moths ago and was a little afraid that I had made the wrong descision. I didn't.

As you can see the iPhone 4S has almost nothing to offer over the already months-old competition from HTC and Samsung and Apple stock dropped almost 10% after it became clear that no iPhone 5 would be announced.

None of this is going to keep all the flaming apple fanboys from running right into the AppleStore and getting it right away though.

Modern Warfare 2 - Have you been in a hacked lobby? Fix in here!

Every MW2 players know this plight: you just want to join a game, and all of the sudden you end up in a hacked lobby.

Now if you didnt backup your stats with the MW2 Config Tool you might not want to surrender yet! You can still get back onto normal servers with your current rank and achievments if only youre running Win7 or Vista.

Win7 and Vista will backup your files automatically once in a while and thats what helps us with getting back onto normal servers!

Theres only a few steps you have to take:

1. Locate your Steam folder and navigate to the "userdata" folder.
2. Rightclick it and click "Restore Previous Version"

Now chose a previous version that you havent joined a hacked server with and copy its contents into your "userdata" folder.

Now navigate to "SteamApps" -> "Common" -> "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2" and do the same to your "players" folder.

Delete all the contens of the current folders and replace them with the ones from the previous versions!

Voila! You can now get back onto normal servers with your current rank and achievments! I have added a few screens that explain how it goes!

Now if you want to backup your stats so you dont have to go through this again next time and do some other tweaks to your Modern Warfare 2 I can really recommend the MW2 Config Tool which you can find here:

iPhone 5 - mistery unraveled?

Is this going to be the design of the new iPhone which is supposed to be presented on the 4th of October?

A german newspaper (BILD) just got its hands on what they assume to be the new iPhone 5 design. The phone in the picture is just a dummy though that was designed by Flavio Trillo from the german iPhone-Channel of Giga.de.

Other rumors concerning the innards of the iPhone 5 include:

- it will almost certainly feature a DualCore processor

- it will become thinner and lighter than its predecessor

- it will get a camera with at least 8 MP and a higher resolution front-facing camera

- loss of the home button in favor of a bigger display

- aluminum backside instead of the glass

And then there was light!

After completing the Berlin-Copenhagen bike-tour I figured it would be time to up my bike with a new light. I used to just have one of those that you could stick onto your bike and then it would run on batteries, but now I'm running the 60 Lux B&M Lumotec IQ Cyo on a shimano dynamo hub.

A standard halogen bikelight emits about 10 Lux while this one right here pumps out 60. This is really going to brighten my trips!

It retails for around 50€s here in Germany and can be had at basically any well assorted bike-store.

GALAXY SII - the switch from iOs to Android

While most of the american market is still waiting for Samsungs current flagship to arrive I snatched mine about a month ago over here in Germany on a T-Mobile contract.

So far I have been very satisfied with the phone and it proves to be an immense upgrade over my old iPhone 3Gs. After all the crap I had to put up with regarding Apple Itunes and their extremely closed iOS I am really happy to have made the switch to the world of Android.

So far I have opted to stay with standard Samsung TouchWiz 4.0 interface as you can see and have only made a few little tweeks.

Hardwarewise the S2 leaves nothing to be desired so far.

The only advantage Apple still has over Android is a high resale value. This is the amount of money I received for a over 2 year old scratched Iphone 3Gs
